Who We Are
Sharing Music and Arts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by providing free, accessible live music and performing arts experiences. We believe the arts are a powerful avenue for creativity, self-expression, connection, and joy—and that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience them fully.
Through adaptive and welcoming programs, we create inclusive environments where individuals of all abilities can engage in meaningful artistic experiences that build confidence, enhance communication, and foster a sense of belonging. Our events open doors to alternative ways of learning, connecting, and expressing oneself, while celebrating the unique talents and identities of each participant.
Many individuals within the IDD community face financial and accessibility barriers that limit their ability to attend live concerts and cultural events. Sharing Music and Arts exists to remove those barriers—not only by providing enriching outings for participants, but also by creating shared experiences for caregivers and families that strengthen relationships and community bonds.
Beginning in 2026, Sharing Music and Arts will host free live music and performing arts events at various locations throughout the Memphis area. Featuring a range of musical genres and artistic styles, our programming is designed to reflect diverse interests and invite participants to fully immerse themselves in the joy and transformative power of the arts. Event details and locations will be shared through our website calendar.
